Bill,I am a longtime fan of yours and if I can’t watch you,I’ll tape your country family reunion.I listened to it on april 12th and heard you sing a song you wrote and sing called “this old army hat” ,A song that really hit home to me.I’m a 52 year long haul truck driver and I live in Lee,Me. You forgot one person that that song was written for,and that is Mark Wills. He could set that song onfire. You did a great job writing and performing it,But that is a Mark Wills song in my mind.Really enjoy your show and enjoy that you were born in the same year sa me,but I was born in March. thanks for your precious time..Lester Lattig.
April 15, 2014 @ 9:13 pm
Hey Bill, I’ve been a fan of yours since the first time I met you in the 1970″s. I have been going to Branson to see you but have not found anything lately. Hi Bill- I was at the Century Casino, Edmonton, AB, Canada Saturday night(May 24, 2014) and your performance was amazing. I attended with my mom and 2 aunties and we would all like to THANK YOU for mentioning my Grandma (Betty Card). She was supposed to attend your performance with us but she passed peacefully in her sleep on May 3. Betty was 82 yrs. young and would have been 83 on June first. She was the mother of 9 girls and 1 son- she was the light of my life and it touched my soul when you said her name. You are a true gentleman Bill- you said my grandma’s name with such sincerity- you touched my soul. I LOVE you voice and your music. THANK YOU for enriching my life. A loving fan, Karen Bunning (from Whitecourt,AB, Canada)

June 4, 2014 @ 5:26 am
Hi Bill…… Just wanted to let you know how much your video and song “The Old Army Hat” means to me. My husband is the vice commander at the Armerican Legion in Hurricane Ut, and there is a veteran that has belonged for many years. And every month he wears his world war II uniform, (including the hat). Every time I see him, I think of you and your song, and the sacrifices these great men made. Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. And believe me, that is often. Your cd’s are all I have in my car. Thank you for keeping ‘country music’ alive. You are by far the best. Have loved you ever since we moved to Kentucky in 1964, and if you wanted to listen to the radio, you listened to country. We will be in Nashville first week in Sept. Hope to see you at the Grand Ole Opry. We get there every couple of years, and every time you haven’t been there. Broke my heart. Thanks for the good work, Luv ya Judy H
June 4, 2014 @ 5:36 pm
Bill .. When I previously checked the lineup, I didn’t see you listed as appearing at the Grand Ole Opry last night. What a pleasant surprise to see you there. I always enjoy your music and I admire you for singing “I Love You Drops’, one of my favorites, as a tribute to your friend so soon after his passing. I know that was very emotional for you. Sorry I missed your Jimmy Dean special in Richmond on Mothers Day but my children had other, wonderful plans for me. Have tried to order your new CD but have had issues with that so will keep working on it. Keep on writing, keep on singing.

The Bubba Garcia cafe is here in my home town. It is a real Mexican place with Mexican waiters . The town is Ozark ,
Arkansas and the high school football team is the Ozark Hillbilly’s. The waiters wear ” Hillbilly ” shirts during football and basketball season. The cafe sits in the corner of the cemetary and you can even read the tombstones when you are walking in. I love your song and will always think of this place when I hear you sing it.

I saw you on TV and in person at the Grand Ole Opry. I went to the Opry two times and hopefully will be my third time here. I live in Elmira, NY. Also, I want to say that I saw on YouTube that you and Roy Acuff did a duet called “I Wonder If God Likes Country Music” and stuck with me the whole time.
July 5, 2014 @ 7:40 pm
Bill, I read your June 27th Journal. You are and have always been a caring and humble person. We shared music together in Athens while you were at UGA and I in high school. I could tell then that you were very talented and were destined for a great career in the country music world. And indeed you have done so. My best to you.

My husband & I were thrilled to see you at the Opry on Sept. 16 2014. My husband is a Vietnam veteran. I wanted to tell you how much your song about the “old army hat” meant to him. He is 100% disabled and your song had him in tears. Thank you so much for understanding what these veterans feel but don’t talk about.

I have had a secret admiration for you since 1966-67, when I seen you at Roaming Acres (near Crooksviille Ohio) I heard you asking Sheila Brown if she had a sister I could be her sister if you were interested. My husband passed away in 2000 and haven’t been in any relationship, since. Hopefully, I hope you will send a reply.

Bill, just finished watching your 50th Celebration DVD’S which I received recently, all I can say is WOW! what an amazing collection of Traditional Stars, on these DVD’s. Having each one of them sing songs which was written by you, that they have recorded was a real treat. Learned a lot about each one of them as well as you Bill, which most people would never have known, if not for this amazing collection. I must say, if any of your fans out there haven’t gotten BILL Anderson’s Country Family Reunion 50th Celebration DVD’s yet, they are a must have! You are the most Loved and Respected entertainer of all time. Have been a fan all my life, thanks for the great songs, especially my all time favorite “STILL”

I’ll be attending your concert in September and I’m looking forward to seeing you again. You and your family, especially for your grandson .are in my prayers. I’m still a Country Fan,
July 22, 2015 @ 1:28 pm
I sit here reading amongst the tears the blog entry of June 11th. I can’t quite fathom that day. My sympathies to you for the loss of your friend, Jim Ed. Seems lately you’ve been losing far too many of your Opry buddies. I understand the loss in some respects. I lost my best friend and love of my life two years ago. There are some things that just never stop hurting.
August 3, 2015 @ 3:22 am
Hey Bill, I’ve been a bit out of touch with country music since we moved from Toronto to Whitefish (Sudbury area), Ontario 11 years ago. What are the odds that you would be doing a concert or anything in Ontario Canada? (not likely, right?) I do love your
I don’t know if you will remember me or not tho, but a few years before I moved I had done an alphabetical list of all your songs and emailed you to ask you if you could look it over to see if I had missed anything. You were so touched at the time that you sent me an autographed copy of your cd “A Lot of Things Different”. I didn’t realize soon enough that it was the cellophane wrapper that was signed and it ended up being thrown out, – is there any possible way of getting another autographed cd? It would be much appreciated. I was just telling my son today about that whole story – he’s going thru a tough time right now and he was asking me about ballads – story songs – and he was commenting that there doesn’t seem to be any songs like that around anymore and of course your name came up……
August 3, 2015 @ 3:32 am
I was watching your 40 year Grand Ole Opry concert on youtube and I totally loved your sense of humor. Has there ever been a cd done just of clips of where you are talking and telling funny stories? I loved the part about the sponsors – and you had a guitar and read the note on the back of the guitar about your friends at Walmart.
August 3, 2015 @ 7:01 pm
I wished I could write a song with you some time.I have some great ideas that I would like to pass by you.
August 14, 2015 @ 9:06 pm

August 21, 2015 @ 1:20 am
How many songs have you written over the years? The ones you’ve sang and also the ones others have recorded? Do you usually have a specific person in mind to sing it when you write a song?

October 12, 2015 @ 8:30 pm
Good luck on your cataract surgery tomorrow. The surgery itself is a breeze. I had both eyes done in December of last year and you will be able to see much better. I can see a deer in the woods 150 miles away but can’t read the newspaper 6 inches from my face!!!!! Yes, you will have to carry readers with you where ever you go if you want to see close up – that’s the only frustrating thing about cataract surgery. We sure enjoy seeing you on Country Family Reunion and just saw you on Larry’s Country Diner. So glad Larry is getting better. We sure would like to see you again at Lakeside in Osceola, Iowa. Will be tuning into the Opry to hear you later this month and in November.
