Well, I’ve got some good news and I’ve got some bad news.
The good news is that just fifteen days after my new book came out, the publisher, University of Georgia Press, wrote and informed me that they had sold every copy they had printed.

That means, unfortunately, some of you who have ordered the book won’t be receiving your copy until a second printing has rolled off the presses. That may not be before mid-October.
I can’t tell you how overwhelmed I am by your response, and by all the messages I’ve received from folks telling me how much they are enjoying having the book and reading it. And my heartfelt thanks to all those in the media who have helped publicize the book and promote it. You’ve helped create this problem, and I thank you for it.
IF I’VE GOT TO HAVE A PROBLEM, THIS IS DEFINITELY THE KIND OF PROBLEM I LIKE TO HAVE!
But now I guess the bottom line is that I’m asking for your patience. Maybe we’ll get lucky and have some new copies sooner than we think. But if we don’t, just hang in there with us and know we are doing the best we can. We’ve got people standing by to package and mail the books as soon as the delivery people leave them on our doorstep.
Meantime, the audio version of the book is on its way. Be watching for details as soon as they are available.
