I hope everybody enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that by now you’ve been able to shed the extra pounds you gained from eating all that good food! I’ve been putting in a little extra time on the treadmill myself.
I had a wonderful day with all the family gathering at my house once again. In case you’ve lost count, that’s three kids and eight grandkids, cluttering up the place with dolls, coloring books, crayons, footballs, puzzles, board games, and love. There’s nothing quite like it!
Thanks for all of your Thanksgiving cards, e-mails, and messages too. I read and appreciated each and every one.
As for December, I’ll be going into the recording studio on Monday the 10th to begin putting down the music for my next CD. We’ll try to get a half-dozen or so songs started that day, then probably go back early next year to cut some more. I’m hoping to have the record completed and available by the time our touring season starts in mid-year.
Meantime, I’ve been able to acquire the rights to the 16-songs that I recorded back in the early eighties for a label in Atlanta called Southern Tracks records. We are currently having those tracks remixed and digitally mastered and plan to release them in January on a CD called “The Atlanta Sessions.” There was also a video done on two of the songs, and we hope to include those in the package as well. I’ll have more information and a list of the songs for you in the January newsletter.
The December 17th issue of Country Weekly magazine, on sale December 10th, will have a feature story on me that I hope you’ll be looking for. Those folks have been awfully good to me over the years, and it’s always nice when you remember to drop them a note and tell them you appreciate it too.
We’re not on the road this month, but we’ll be on the Grand Ole Opry six more times ….December 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 21st, and 22nd….all at the Ryman Auditorium. Come see us if you can.
