1. I love to watch the Country’s Family Reunion DVD’s. I would love to see Don Williams on one of them. Has he ever been asked?
According to our talent coordinators, he gets asked every time we go in for a recording session. Up until Don announced his retirement a few weeks ago, he kept such a busy tour schedule that we were never able to match our schedule to his. Maybe now that he has decided to slow down again we’ll be able to have him join us. I hope so.
2. I believe I saw your son play the drums when he was about eleven on the Ralph Emery show. Does he still play the drums?
He was actually seven when he played with me on Ralph’s show. I have a tape of it, and watched it not long ago. Being married now and a father of four doesn’t leave him a lot of time to play these days, but he does keep a set of electric drums in his “man cave” downstairs at his house. He can play those with a set of headphones and not disturb the family, and he does from time to time. I think it’s a good stress reliever.
3. Is there any place to purchase or download the series “Visits With The Legends” that you did on XM satellite radio? I was able to hear several of them, but I would love the opportunity to hear them all.
:I cannot tell you how often I get asked this question and, unfortunately, the answer at the present time is no. There are almost a hundred of these shows in the vault at XM, but nobody seems inclined to make them available….although Sirius-XM is airing my visit with Merle Haggard this weekend in honor of his passing. I’m glad you enjoyed the shows. They were a true labor of love for me to record.
4. What CD is the song, “Let Me Whisper Darling One More Time,” on? I think that is the most beautiful and sexiest song I have ever danced to.
Thank you. That was on the “Peanuts & Diamonds” CD which came out in the mid-seventies. I don’t know if you can locate a copy today or not., but you can try. I’m glad to know you like it.
Thanks for another great batch of questions. Send yours to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be back to answer some more next month.
