Hi Folks:
I have just escaped and returned home from having been held prisoner on a cruise ship in the Caribbean for the last eight days and seven nights.
It was a tough job, but somebody had to do it!
I’m kidding, of course. We had a marvelous time with just over a thousand country music fans and friends on board the Celebrity Reflections for the 2015 Country’s Family Reunion cruise to warm weather. There’s no way to describe it other than to say we played music, we signed autographs, we posed for pictures, we visited over breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, and then we played some more music and signed some more autographs, and snapped some more pictures. And, oh yes, ate some more food! To those of you who cruised with us, thank you so much for giving of your time and your kind and generous compliments. And for those who didn’t get to go this time, here’s hoping you can make one of our CFR cruises in the future. There’s nothing quite like them.
For me, the highlights included Mo Pitney singing the song he, Bobby Tomberlin, and I wrote together called, “Country,” which is his first release on Curb records, and is officially out on the market this week. The other “Moe” onboard, Moe Bandy, previewed for the first time a new song I co-wrote called, “I’ve Done Everything Hank Williams Did But Die.” His performance earned a standing ovation, and was the talk of the ship for the next several days. Hopefully, his recording of it will be released soon.
Now that we’re back home and it’s back to reality, we’ll be heading back to the Grand Ole Opry House and up to Minnesota for performances later this month. Our February 20th show in Medina, MN. will be with John Conlee, and the next night in Onamia, MN. will be with both John and Connie Smith. Our Opry dates are scheduled for the 13th, 14th, 17th, 27th, and 28th.
Thanks to all of you who have ordered our new 40-song gospel CD package, “God Is Great – God Is Good.” Your comments have been extremely nice, and I appreciate them more than you know. We performed two of the cuts, “Mama Sang A Song” and “Deck Of Cards,” on the cruise, and received standing ovations on both. I think it points out that “story” songs and songs based on our faith always have a place in country music.
As you might expect, the mail piled up while we were away, and I need to go start sorting through it. If you’ve written and don’t receive a reply right away, please understand how long it takes to go through so much correspondence. I do enjoy your e-mails, letters, and Facebook posts, and I read every single one, even if I don’t always have time to respond.
Thanks for everything, and we’ll see you back here again next month.
Still,

Thrilled to find out that you will be performing in Nashville on the 17th when I will be visiting from across the pond ! Saw you there last year in April when you were doing “Bubba” and bringing the house down. The audience was full of school kids that night and they all loved you !
