Ask Bill – January 6, 2020
1) I just received your book, “I Hope You’re Living As High On The Hog As The Pig You Turned Out To Be” which I am enjoying. I was wondering why you never turned that title into a country song. It sure sounds like one to me.
Funny you should say that, because when I first heard that title it WAS a country song. It was written by Billy Edd Wheeler and Steve Clark. I asked for and received their permission to use their title for the name of my book because I thought it was descriptive of the book I was trying to write. I wanted a title that said “country” and that said “humor” and that’s what I got. So far as I know, their original song has never been released.
2) Would you ever do a tour in England UK as country music is getting bigger over here.
I can only assume you must be a younger fan or a newer fan of mine as I have toured in the U.K. many times over the years. I was on the very first Wembley International Festival Of Country Music in London back in 1969, and followed that appearance with several tours over the next few years. My last trip there was in February, 2012, when I came as part of the CMA Songwriters Series along with Clint Black and Bob DiPiero. I always enjoy my trips to your part of the world, and hopefully I’ll get invited back again someday.
3) Oh my gosh I love your album, “Ladies Choice,” and would love to get it on CD. But I can’t find it anywhere.
Unfortunately, “Ladies Choice,” was never released on a CD. I constantly get requests like yours, but so far MCA Records, who owns the masters, has not seen fit to issue the album in CD form. Sorry.
4) Your “Waffle House Christmas” song/video was great! Do you have any plans to record another Christmas album?
Thanks…I’m glad you have enjoyed it. To be honest, I really haven’t given another Christmas album much thought. I have several things I want to do in the recording studio over the next few months, but most involve secular music. I guess if enough people wanted me to do another Christmas album we could give it some thought, but it’s not on the front burner at the present time.
Thanks, as always, for your questions. Please keep them coming in the New Year. Send yours to me at askbill@billanderson.com or at P.O. Box 888, Hermitage, TN. 37076, and I’ll do my best to answer. Stay curious.

The longer you sing, the better you get.
