Never has there been a city so rich in the history of music that it exudes creativity at every turn. For more than 130 years, Nashville, Tennessee has been known as the world’s Music City. Now in the documentary For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville, the story behind the Nashville music scene is told through the eyes of many of the musicians, songwriters, producers and artists who live and breathe its inspiration. Leading into the 47th Annual CMA Awards airing on ABC on November 6, For the Love of Music: The Story of Nashville will air on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3 at 3 p.m. EST/2 p.m. CST on the ABC Television Network.
“You can’t get that many talented people in one area and expect the genres not to grow,” Ben Folds recounts in the documentary which features more than 30 artists, including Eric Church, The Civil Wars, Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, The Black Keys, Kris Kristofferson and Kings of Leon, who provide a personal and captivating account of how Nashville has evolved into the world’s Music City. As Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys notes “There really are no parameters, no walls. You can do whatever you want in Nashville.”
Once the documentary airs, it will live on http://www.abc.com where it can be viewed in its entirety. Unseen clips and extended artist interviews will be available to view on ABC.com as well. Additionally, a “Story of Nashville” app is in the works that will automatically listen for and sync with the film. The iPhone app will provide additional facts and stories that will pop up during the show about the artists and locations.
