When I first heard that Roy Clark had passed away this morning, I was, like everyone else, saddened by the news. But shortly thereafter, a friend of mine sent me this picture taken when we saluted the Kornfield on Country’s Family Reunion a few years ago, and I smiled.
“How can you look at this picture and not smile? Roy was so full of life and laughter that simply the mention of his name makes me smile. We were connected by music…his 1960’s recording of my song, “Tips Of My Fingers,” began that relationship…and by our senses of humor which always seemed to be in sync.
“He was a great musician, a talented singer, and a dear friend who will be forever appreciated and missed.
