March 3, 2014
This may be one of the hardest fan club letters I’ve ever had to write.
I’m sitting here looking out my window at the snow and ice that passed through Nashville last night….and just a few hours ago I was looking out across the clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea from the sun-soaked deck of a cruise ship! I keep trying to get up out of my chair and head back south, but I can’t. Oh well, we created some beautiful memories on the cruise, and the weather we came home to in Tennessee is not nearly as bad as what some of our fellow passengers returned to in the midwest and the northeast.
To all of you who sailed with us, and there were over 1,100 of you, thanks so much for being such nice people and such grateful fans. It was so much fun hosting the Country’s Family Reunion shows for you, and your response to me, Gene Watson, Jim Ed Brown, Helen Cornelius, Rhonda Vincent, Mo Pitney, the Church Sisters, Billy Dean, and David Frizzell was nothing short of phenomenal.
If you’ve never been on one of our cruises and have always wanted to go, we’ll be sailing again in July, this time to Alaska. You can write email@example.com for all the details.
Meanwhile, here in the real world, our “Life” CD is being officially released by Sony’s Red River Records this week, and I’ll be popping up on radio and TV stations all across the country doing interviews and point-of-purchase autograph parties. So many of you have written and said you saw me singing some of the new songs on Larry’s Country Diner recently and heard me talking about the record with Wade Jessen at Willie’s Roadhouse on SiriusXM satellite radio. I appreciate your kind comments very much, and hope if you haven’t already added “Life” to your record collection that you’ll want to do so real soon.
I’ll be spending two hours with Eddie Stubbs on Wednesday night March 12th which you can listen to on www.wsmonline.com as well as on 650 AM Radio, WSM. There will be an upcoming story about me and the new record in USAToday’s online edition as well as several other opportunities for you to follow us down the promotion trail. We’ll list as many of those events as possible on our web site at www.billanderson.com.
We’ll be on the Grand Ole Opry five times this month: March 4th, 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th, an on the road March 29th in York, Pennsylvania. Come see us anytime you can.
Just before leaving on the cruise, our “likes” on Facebook hit the 100,000 mark, and I don’t want to let this opportunity pass without whispering a big ole “Thank You” to each of you who visited us and clicked that all-important “like” button. I can’t believe it was only a short time ago when our numbers were in the 4 to 5,000 range. The growth has been incredible, and I really appreciate it. And, hey, don’t stop now!!
On the personal side, my family is doing as well as could be expected, and I continue to appreciate your thoughts and prayers for my son-in-law, Chuck, and my grandson, Gabe. My daughter, Jenni, had an unexpected trip to the hospital while we were away on the cruise, but it was nothing serious and she’s back home now and doing well.
By the next time I’ll be writing to you it will officially be Spring and we’ll have put this cold, snowy winter behind us. Between now and then, “keep on the sunny side,” and thanks for being the greatest fans and friends in the world!
