Many thanks greatly for the update on Jean Shepherd. Always loved her music and sense of humor. I have often inquired about her absence but never could find out that she has health issues which I regret so much. Many prayers for her and hope for improvement soon. As for you, Bill. Well, there is no more I can say that hasn’t already been said about you. A true southern gentleman with a voice and songwriting talent that never ends. Have loved you and your music for years and hope it continues for years to come.
    Keep on kickin’.

I noticed in the past that Ms Jean’s health has been declining as I have watched all the Reunion shows and Larry’s country diner. My dad sang all the old bluegrass songs (Bill Monroe, Lester Flat) and the True Country songs of the 40-50’s. These are the songs I hold close as he will be 87 Dec 27. Bill, as you continue to write, Your new songs still convey with words and music that will always stand the test of time. I just heard Moe Bandy sing the song you wrote including Hank Williams as one of the writers (You hosting Larry’s Diner).

I cry everytime I hear “When Mama Sang A Song” it brings such unexplainable feelings that I have hearing my grandmother and mother singing the old time gospel songs.

Bill,do you have a recording of you singing the old song “Supper Time” that’s a song that my dad would come in the living room when I was practicing a song to sing at church on Sunday mornings. I would love to have it to play at his funeral. I pray he lives many more years but know that we aren’t promised another day. (I could go before him. My Husband died 14 yrs ago mother’s day at the age of 53
and at 64 I don’t know what God has planned for me) Pat

Mary Knapp, I was listening Saturday night and was much moved. Jean Shepard sang “The Tennessee Waltz” and then she and Bill Anderson sang the “Dear John Letter”. Steve Buchanan gave her a nice presentation to commemorate her milestone. The sound of the applause filling the Ryman Auditorium gave me goose bumps and just totally warmed my heart. Bill Anderson said her dressing room was filled with flowers and then he said to Jean “you are a very loved woman”. I just will never forget it. You can go on WSM’s website, http://www.wsmonline.com and click on the “watch/ listen” tab. They have all the Opry shows archived for online streaming. This was on Saturday night, 11/21/2015 on the 8:00 portion which was about an hour into the show. Please give it a listen. You’ll treasure it.

Bill, thanks so much for sharing the story about Jeannie Shepard. I met Jeannie ‘Many Moons Ago’ back in the 60’s at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto! What a WONDERFUL LADY!! I was standing talking to her during her break when she said “Oh, I have to go call my kids back home, come with me”! I was a little taken aback that she’d ask such a request, so I told her to go ahead & make her phone call but she INSISTED I go with her, so I waited with her & then we continued our visit!! I seen her again about 3-4 yrs. ago down here in Eastern Ontario (Colborne Auction Barn Jamboree). Although I was excited to see her again, the poor soul had failed SO dramatically, she would be singing along,,,forget the words, so her husband standing right beside her, would whisper a few words & away she’d go again! I don’t know if many ppl. noticed but myself, being a ‘REAL JEANNIE FAN’ knew the words to all her songs & have sung some at Open Mic’s!! She was SOO ‘done in’ after her segment of the show, she had to go rest before she could come out & sign autographs!! May God Richly Bless Jeannie & keep her safe from all the sins & devastation of this world! Bill, when you happen to see Jeannie again, PLEASE give her my Love & Best Wishes, especially at this WONDERFUL time of the year! MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all & have a WONDERFUL HOLIDAY SEASON which is fast approaching~~

P.S. Just getting our first snowfall in my area this morning! Bill…did you happen to see the pic. our Sweet little ‘Mutual Friend’ Naomi Bristow posted a cpl. days ago of the snow at her farm?? (I LUV her new Christmas CD, you singing with her; What an HONOR it was for her)

Reports of tragic accidents along the Hwy 401 corridor!! WHEN>>WILL PEOPLE EVER LEARN??~~~~Lorna

Thank you, Bill, for all the information you pass along to us. Thank you for the iinformation about Jean Shepard; it’s always so good to see and hear her. I love watching the Country Family Reunions and you do/did such a wonderful job. We all love you and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, good health and time with family. WE are so blessed to have lived when Country Music was so popular, so many of the newer country singers just don’t have what you have. Love you.

I like you absolutely Love Jean. What a super lady. Last month at the ROPE awards show I was priviledged to help her out of the car. Through the years I always throw her kisses and say “I love you Lady”. I wish she felt better but I still see that spark in her eyes. Jerri
